Accreditation & Certification

Attention AFCA Members

The Alberta Fire Chiefs Association strongly supports the transfer of responsibility for administration of fire service accreditation and certification from Lakeland College to the Alberta Emergency Management Agency.  This has been long anticipated and we thank the agency and specifically Deputy Fire Commissioner Spence Sample for bringing this project to a successful conclusion.  With this transfer we anticipate the broadening of training options for the Alberta Fire Service.  This will allow us to ensure our members can provide the best and most appropriate training for Alberta firefighters in whatever format works best for the departments.
